In early October the 2010 AMSA ARC/UCD Pre-Medical Conference will take place on the UC Davis campus. The conference strives to provide all pre-meds with the opportunity to hear directly from professionals at every stage of the health profession track, including representatives from over 100 medical schools, current medical students, and dozens of deans and admission specialists. By becoming a conference leader, you will have the extended opportunity to work directly with many of these individuals while honing your own leadership skills. Positions are being offered to motivated students who wish to be apart of this year's planning team.

Committee Coordinators must:

  • Have regular access to email
  • Be in Davis/Sacramento during the summer
  • Be dedicated and self-reliant
  • Attend all committee meetings

Available committees include:

  • Logistics
  • Workshops/ Dean's Panel
  • Pre-Health Profession Fair
  • Event Program
  • Volunteers
  • Registration

Logistics coordinators will be in charge of:

  • Maps/Signage
  • A/V needs
  • Food
  • Transportation
  • Overnight
  • Hotels
  • Radios
  • TAPS/Fire Dept./Police Dept.

Workshops/ Deans Panel coordinators will be in charge of:

  • Compiling a list of workshops
  • Workshop descriptions
  • Contact and Invite presenters
  • Eventbrite updates
  • Bio and Pics for speakers
  • Providing support for all members of dean’s panel, workshop presenters

Pre-Health Profession Fair coordinators will be in charge of:

  • Inviting and coordinating groups
  • Set up/take down of quad
  • Coordination of all materials neccessary for the fair

Event Program coordinators will be in charge of:

  • Overseeing speaker bio/pics
  • Compilation of maps/ necessary info
  • Advertisements
  • Keeping track of information from other coordinators

Volunteer coordinators would be in charge of:

  • Recruiting volunteers/ Outreach
  • Creating task cards
  • Directing volunteers to sub groups
  • Managing 300+ volunteers

Registration coordinators would be in charge of:

  • Coordinating main, volunteer, and speaker check-in
  • Welcome bags
  • Scanners
  • Directing speakers
